Conscious Breathwork

a.k.a Conscious Connected Breathwork / Circular Breathwork / Transformational Breathwork

Most Transformational forms of Breathwork are based upon insights from modern consciousness research, transpersonal psychology, anthropology, Eastern spiritual practices, Shamanism and the world’s mystical traditions. It uses accelerated breathing, heightened levels of oxygen, evocative music (in most cases) and deep inner focus to help participants open to  non-ordinary states of consciousness for self-healing, transformation, and spiritual awakening.

The Practice of Conscious Connected Breathing (also called Circular breathing) is an ancient practice used in cultures around the world for thousands of years for healing and attaining higher states of consciousness. With this method the inhale and exhale are merged, with no hesitation or holding in between. This becomes circular in motion instead of taking a short break between breaths. Breathing in such a manner allows for expanded states of consciousness, having an effect on physical, mental and spiritual well-being.

The process allows participants to drop into a deep trance state where the subconscious mind is accessed through the theta brain state. The latest research is showing that 95% of our reality is a reflection of our conditioned subconscious mind, which can only be accessed and re-patterned with specific modalities such as Breathwork, hypnotherapy, EFT, NLP, etc.

The process invokes a profound journey into whatever state of consciousness is relevant for the breather at the time. The process brings more energy and awareness into the body, releasing stored stress, repressed feelings, strain and trauma. It activates both unconscious pain and ecstatic bliss as the intelligence of the life force leads us to exactly where we need to awaken.

It allows one to examine limiting beliefs and emotional addictions, bring to awareness self-limiting habits, resolve life long relationship patterns, relieve the fear of death and illness, open to the capacity for self-healing, and experience states of pure unconditional love, acceptance and bliss.

Conscious Breathwork is self-empowering as it allows us to look back at the landscape of the psyche, to free us of limiting patterns and to embody the radiant infinite essence that we are.

We are inspired by and grateful for world renowned pioneers in the field of Breathwork.

Dan Brulé (author of "Just Breathe" , "Spiritual Breathing" and many more) has written a wide variety of books touching on topics such as self exploration, healing and Breathwork, based on his many years of experience in this field.

Stanislov Grof, Psychiatrist and pioneer of Transpersonal Psychology and Breathwork, has done immense work in the field of psychedelic therapy and the connection to Breathwork and transpersonal states. Grof was a Scholar-in-Residence at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California - where he developed Holotropic Breathwork with his wife Christina Grof.

Leonard Orr, founder of Rebirthing Breathwork, also known as Conscious Energy Breathing or Conscious Connected Breathing, started Rebirthing Breathwork International (officially Rebirth International); a non profit organization with the purpose of uniting Breathworkers around the world and improving the quality of this work on the planet.
